Roger Federer Took The #1 Spot Again
The Basel native has compiled a 40-6 match record (16-2 on clay, 17-4 on hard, 7-0 on grass) in his first nine tournaments and finished Wimbledon on a 19-match winning streak…The Swiss superstar completed a career Grand Slam at Roland Garros in his 11th attempt by defeating Swede Robin Soderling in straight sets in the final…It was his 14th Grand Slam crown, tying Pete Sampras for the most in men's tennis…Lost six sets en route to the title, the most of any Grand Slam title run and was pushed to five sets by Tommy Haas in the fourth and Juan Martin del Potro in the semi-finals...
